Kennzeichen A-CH - New App for iPhone, iPad and Android

Austrian and Swiss car license plates

Kennzeichen A-CH:
Don't travel to Austria or Switzerland without this database of the license plate signs of both countries. The letter code denotes the different regions and cantons. You can search for the code, the region, the cantons and filter by countries.
The application helps you to collect all different codes. This is a famous game for kids during boring long car trips. The icon badge shows the number of marked codes.
There is a quick link from the region and the canton to Wikipedia to read more. Furthermore you can choose between a light modern design and a dark traditional design.
This application is in German, but can be used by anybody who travels through Austria and Switzerland or is curious about their license plates.

New in the App Store: Altitude

This altimeter delivers the altitude of your current position either from the device (GPS) or from the ASTER digital elevation model (with a horizontal accuracy of 30m). Depending on your current position and your device one of the two methods is more correct. Using GPS on the device is known for a large error in the altitude for difficult receiver conditions it's not available for network based positioning at all.

Uses the GeoNames database for the ASTER data.

New Project: My Position

Quickly see where and how high you are on earth. If you define a target you can see how far you still have to go and in which direction. It uses the a constant angle on a so called rhumb line or loxodrome, so it is not necessary to constantly adjust your bearing (as you would have to on the shortest path on a orthodrome)

This application is intended for a quick lookup without tracking your position in the background in order to save battery power.
